“The effect of 4DryField PH on blood loss in hip bipolar hemiarthroplasty following intracapsular femoral neck fracture – a randomized clinical trial”

This randomized controlled clinical trial included patients undergoing bipolar hip hemiarthroplasty due to intracapsular femoral neck fractures. In the intervention group, 4DryField® PH was applied subfascially and subcutaneously during wound closure. On day 7, the size of the hematoma cavities formed was measured by ultrasound. The results showed that the use of 4DryField® PH significantly reduced postoperative hematoma size by 77% compared with the control group. In addition, the need for surgical revision of hematomas was avoided thanks to the use of 4DryField® PH.

Caution: when used for hemostasis (in powder form) in the upper respiratory tract, excess powder must be removed and the remaining powder transformed into gel using a sterile solution.

“The impact of 4DryField PH on hemostasis and postoperative drain placement in thyroid surgery”

This controlled retrospective study of more than 200 patients assessed whether 4DryField® PH powder used for hemostasis could serve as an intraoperative indicator for the need to place a drain. In the 4DryField® PH group, a drain was placed only when bloody exudate persisted despite reapplication of the powder.
Using this approach, drains were required in only 23% of patients, and no complications related to the absence of drainage were observed in patients for whom no drain had been placed. The authors concluded that the use of 4DryField® PH reduced the need for drain placement by 77%, while enabling intraoperative identification of patients at increased risk through a standardized assessment of persistent exudate.

“Significant adhesion reduction and time saving in pediatric heart surgery with 4DryField PH: A retrospective, controlled study”

In this controlled retrospective study, 4DryField® PH was applied for adhesion prevention during staged procedures for congenital heart disease. The results show that 4DryField® PH gel significantly reduces adhesion formation during second-stage procedures, that 4DryField® PH gel significantly shortens the time required to free the heart during reoperations, and that doses of up to 2 g of 4DryField® PH per kg of body weight were well tolerated by newborns, without causing complications. “Evaluation of Lymphorrhea and Incidence of Lymphoceles: 4DryField® PH in Radical Retropubic Prostatectomy”

This controlled prospective trial included more than 100 patients, half of whom received 4DryField® PH powder on the lymphadenectomy area during radical prostatectomy. The results show that 4DryField® PH is effective for lymphostasis, as treatment with 4DryField® PH led to a reduction in total volume and high-volume drainage losses. Furthermore, the incidence of late lymphoceles requiring treatment was halved and the duration of lymphocele drainage was reduced by approximately two-thirds.

4DryField® PH is supplied in powder form in blue bellows bottles of 1 g, 3 g, 5 g and 9 g, ready to use. One sales unit (box) contains three bellows bottles (3 g, 5 g, 9 g) or five bellows bottles (1 g).

4DryField® PH should be stored at room temperature, protected from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. No other storage conditions are known beyond normal hospital storage conditions. When stored properly, this product remains fully usable for 5 years.
