Louis Cousin established a linen twisting company, laying the foundation for our textile expertise.

1870

Cousin began its braiding activity.

1947

Cousin became the first company in Europe to industrially manufacture continuous polyamide yarn.

1989

A major medical breakthrough: the design and manufacture of the first artificial ligament, marking Cousin's entry into the field of textile surgical implants.

1994

Launch of the visceral surgery division with the first parietal reinforcement implant for the treatment of inguinal hernias.

Cousin is registered in the United States with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
