Resorbable tackers

The DegraTack™ fixation device is designed for the fixation of prosthetic materials to soft tissues during surgical procedures (e.g., hernia repair) via endoscopic or open surgery.

The absorbable tackers are composed of PLGA (poly(lactic-co-glycolic) acid), tinted with violet dye.

Clinical benefits

After implantation, the absorbable staples degrade into glycolic and lactic acid, then are resorbed and metabolized by the tissues. Animal studies have shown that after 12 weeks, the shear strength of the staples decreases by approximately 15%, their morphology remains intact for up to 26 weeks, and they are fully resorbed and metabolized after 52 weeks.

DegraTack is an absorbable fixation device that is very simple for the surgeon to use:

  • Remains intact for 4 to 5 months, ensuring stability during the critical healing phase.
  • Fully absorbed within 12 months, leaving no permanent trace in the body.

Normal storage conditions: Store between 0 and 30°, less than 80% humidity.
