The Bissinger Mangeshikar uterine manipulator was developed for use in total laparoscopic hysterectomy to mobilize and visualize the uterus, as well as to protect the bladder, ureter, and rectum during electrosurgical resection of the uterus.
Clinical benefits
The instrument consists of a symmetrically rotating handle for guidance and for opening and closing the associated cervical clamp (tenaculum).
