Biomechanical Principles of the Reverse Design
The C DISC is founded on an innovative biomechanical concept, incorporating only safe and well-established materials that have been widely validated in disc and joint prostheses for many years.
Its architecture reproduces physiological cervical kinematics through:
• Controlled mobility in five directions (flexion, extension, lateral bending, rotation, and translation)
• A dual axis of rotation providing automatic self-centering of the implant’s core
• A reversed design with the center of rotation located in the superior vertebra
The C DISC also offers:
• Strong primary fixation through trapezoidal anchoring teeth
• Optimized secondary fixation with sandblasted surfaces and a 150 µm titanium plasma porous coating, promoting osseointegration
• Controlled mobility ensured by a core design that limits motion beyond a defined physiological range
Finally, the C DISC is the only prosthesis delivered pre-assembled on a metallic holder, providing unmatched handling and allowing surgeons to reposition the implant without the risk of premature disconnection.
